    Well, I think most people in Hollywood are quite bright and reasonable, and would naturally think Scientology is kind of weird and possibly destructive. Nobody likes the sense that there is a "secret club" or some kind of group out there where you have to be so cautious about what you say. Also, I think a lot of people in this town resent being associated with such a weird freaky group! People make lots of accusations about show biz and having THOSE freaks around doesn't help our reputation! I also do not think Tom Cruise is as popular as he's been made out to be. Usually, Hollywood loves box office success, plus some artistic attempts - it's really pretty surprising that Tom hasn't won an Oscar. Usually, that means you're not very well liked. Look at Tom Hanks - he actually wasn't much of a box office success but he is a very nice guy, very pleasant to work with - and he won the Oscar, and then had the box office success to back it up. They even gave Julia Roberts an Oscar! Considering Tom's been nominated three times and never won, that says to me he is not particularly admired or adored! So maybe there were a lot of people happy to see Tom start to go down in flames two years ago, and now really want more people to know what he's like...he's weird, he's selfish, he's obsessed with Scientology!

    I have to ask you something else, though. I believe you read that little beauty about Tommy Gurl and Kate Capshaw and Spielberg. What I can imagine is that this story was leaked into the media on purpose. Now, can you think of any reason why Hollywood definitely wants to get rid of Scientology? I mean as a business and industrial sector? Could you imagine that they have "our level of awareness"? I still can't help thinking that Hollywood will drop Captain Thetan and that is because his box-office sucks. I don't think they would care too much beyond that.
